About the Artist
Artist Shawn McCurdy hand crafts unique metal artwork for the discriminating collector. After learning how to weld for pragmatic reasons – simply put, to fix things – she soon realized that the artistic side of metal was far more fascinating, and she now utilizes her skills to bring life to steel, aluminum, copper, and other materials. Shawn considers the finishing of metal surfaces to be an equally fascinating study, and specializes in beautiful patinas.

Shawn finds inspiration in the organic forms, colors, and nuances of nature. Her formal education in music and software engineering has contributed to her approach to metalworking, lending a sense of lyricism balanced with structure and proportion. Having lived most of her life in Florida, Shawn currently creates and resides in Geneva, a small rural community near Orlando. She shares 5 acres with her husband, a dog, a cat, and a variety of wild critters.

“I have been influenced by my family – especially my mother, who was able to create very much from very little, and my husband, who provides stalwart support for all my endeavors.” -- Shawn McCurdy
